Central Square’s newly built Union House starts leasing
The 23-unit building off the Red Line is part of the massive Market Central project born as Mass + Main The first part of the development previously known as Mass + Main—one of the biggest new projects to drop in Cambridge’s Central Square in ages—is now leasing.
The four-story, 23-unit Union House at 47 Bishop Allen Drive is comprised mostly of two- and three-bedrooms, with a smattering of studios and one-bedrooms. It is unclear what the asking rents are, but at least one listing pegs a one-bedroom of indeterminate square-footage at $1,750 a month, which would be competitive for the area.
Tenants are expected to begin moving into Union House in November. According to an executive at developer Twining, the building is aimed at families and young couples “looking for a home with a neighborhood vibe.” It includes a landscaped backyard for grilling and “hanging out with neighbors.” Meanwhile, work on the larger three-building project—now dubbed Market Central to in part
